Ece Akay is a full-time instructor at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Baskent University; 

 

In 2000, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Hacettepe University, from the department of sculpture. After graduation, with the dissertation titled as “Searching New Ways of Construction in Sculpture in the Context of Time”, and various artworks made under the same title, she took the Master of Fine Arts degree.  In 2014 she finished her Ph.D. study titled as "Contemporary Inscriptions: The Relationship Between Text and Form in Sculpture". In this study, in both material and conceptual ways, she tried to analyze the relationship between text and image throughout the history of art.

In general, in her academic and artistic works, she is interested in topics like contemporary art, conceptual art, environmental art, but most importantly text art.  And, as a result of these interest, she attended to various national and international exhibitions, manifestation and symposiums.

​

In the mean time, beside her artistic production, she is giving courses like Basic Design Studio, Illustration, Printing Techniques and Sculpture.
